The question is simply asking which pair of equations have the same value of x.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
THE first problem is X=15
the second problem is x=15
hero (hero):
And to provide the steps to each solution
OpenStudy (anonymous):
and i don't know how to solve the third one

OpenStudy (anonymous):
but
OpenStudy (anonymous):
do you know how to solve the third one?

is that what I have to do? can you show me how? because I don't know how to cross multiply with this fraction
OpenStudy (anonymous):
find the value of x from second and plug in (1) and (3)
and see if it satisfies the equations.
hero (hero):
When you cross muliply, you take something like
\[\frac{a}{b} = \frac{c}{d}\]
And then multiply the denominators into the numerators so that
\[ab = bc\]
In this case, you take
\[\frac{2x + 1}{3} = \frac{x + 6}{2}\] and cross multiply so that:
2(2x + 1) = 3(x + 6)
Can you solve for x from here?
