I'm having a hard time understanding what I'm supposed to write about.
this is the writing prompt:

In a well-organized essay, explain how Chopin subtly reveals her attitudes, and explain why a large portion of her 1894 readers might object.

Now, I've read "A story of an hour" and I have already written half the essay (I was asked to identify the theme and the tone) but I'm confused about what the question is asking me,

Well, what confuses me is the part "explain why a large portion of her 1894 readers might object.", why would the time period of her readers impact the reactions? :/ I don't know what the teacher's looking for
