You want to get rid of the radical (square root symbol) in the denominator. Multiply the entire fraction by ( 5 + 2sqrt6)/ (5 + 2sqrt6). So, you get (7*sqrt3)*(5 + 2sqrt6) (35*sqrt3) + (14*sqrt18) ------------------- = ---------------------- (5-2sqrt6)*(5 +2sqrt6) 25 - 4*sqrt36 You're denominator will reduce to 1, and you end up with 35*sqrt3 + 42*sqrt2 Try it and see.
