Please Help How do I round 3.857 to two decimal places?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The second decimal place is where the 5 is at

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So look to the next digit and you'll see 7, that's larger than 5, so you round up to go from 85 to 86 you drop everything after the 85 this means we do this basically 3.857 ... start with the given number 3.85 ... drop everything after the 85 3.86 ... round up (because the 7 after the 85 is larger than 5)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so that's why 3.857 rounds to 3.86

oh okay. Thank you @jim_thompson5910

you're welcome
