what is an operational amplifier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you give an input signal of low amplitude to your op-amp...keeping your signal frequency same it multiplies your amplitude of the input signal..thus giving you an amplified signal. eg: if you connect an electric guitar to an amplifier then you get the new signal with same frequency but large frequency.
