you have 9m = -63 9m means 9 times m, the opposite of multiplication is division
so in this case you divide
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh ok. i get it.
OpenStudy (ivettef365):
if you had a problem like
9m -2 = 16 , then you have subtraction of 2, opposite of subtract is add
so in this case you add first and would be
9m -2 + 2 = 16 + 2 (you need to do same procedure on both sides)
OpenStudy (ivettef365):
and by the way the answer is -7
because when dividing a negative with a positive = negative

i see what your saying. thank you. :)
