OpenStudy (amistre64):

Apothem is the measure from the center to a side ... 90 degrees so we have 5 triangles of the form: |dw:1377794411161:dw|

OpenStudy (amistre64):

find the area of that triangle; multiply it by 5; and then subtract out the area of the rectangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a=bh right

OpenStudy (amistre64):

for which one :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

triangle

OpenStudy (amistre64):

area of a triangle is: bh/2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

all a triangle is, is half of a rectangle ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i got 1047.75

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hmm, i thought i saw a pentagon ... this has 6 sides, so lets do the triangle times 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so 1257.3

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6 * (19.05*22)/2 = 1257.3 correct now we just have to subtract out the area of the rectangle
