The circle formed by the blades of a fan has a circumference of eighty-one and five-sevenths inches. What is its diameter? Use twenty-two sevenths for pi.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

To find the diametre you have to divide the circumference by pi. Eighty one and five sevenths means 81.71 and twenty two sevenths means 3.14(pi). So what you had to do is: 81.71/3.14=26.02
