i think you are supposed to solve \(2x+3=4x-1\) but there is a problem because \(x\) is being used for two different things
in any case solve
\[2x+3=4x-1\] in three steps

1) subtract \(2x\) from both sides
2) add 1 to both sides
3) divide both sides by \(2\)
