algebra 2 what is the vertex of y=x(squared) + 8x + 5

The x-coordinate of the vertex is found by the formula: \(\Large x=\dfrac{-b}{2a}\) Once you have the x-coordinate, just plug it into the equation for x and that will give you the y-coordinate. :)
