PLEASE HELP ME! 20=-8+W

When you solve these types of problems, you want to get the unknown variable (W) by itself on one side. That means that on the right side of 20=-8 + w, you have to get rid of the -8. To get rid of the -8, you have to make it equal zero. To make -8 zero, you add positive 8. However, if you had 8 to one side of the equation, you have to add it to the other side. 8+-8=0 8+20=28 Therefore, W=28.
