The swelling and pain associated with inflammation are caused by the A. destruction of bacteria by white blood cells. B. expansion of local blood vessels. C. secretion of antibodies. D. secretion of antigens.

What do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's either A or B

OpenStudy (opcode):

Okay well B. expansion of local blood vessels is the correct. Why is B correct? Well inflammation is a response of a tissue to injury, often injury caused by invading pathogens. When this happens your body increases the blood flow to the tissue causing expansion of local blood vessels.
