Tn=2+3(n-1)for n>1 is this a arithmetic ,geometric ,or neither

OpenStudy (luigi0210):

Hello @rich999 Welcome to openstudy :) And if you know your formula, you can spot what it is real easily

OpenStudy (oaktree):

Since the formula for the terms of an arithmetic sequence is \[T_n = t_1 + d(n-1)\]And the formula for a geometric sequence is\[T_n = t_1 \times r^{n-1}\]You should be able to spot a similarity. However, in a different method in case you forgot your formulas, you can just plug in n's and see if the numbers you get look arithmetic or geometric. In this case you get {5,8,11,14,17...} Does that look arithmetic or geometric to you? What do you think the answer is?

OpenStudy (oaktree):

@rich999, I'm going to assume you're not present right now. So I guess I'll just tell you that the answer is arithmetic.
