show that the points K(2,4), L(4,2), M(2,-2) and N(-2,2) form the vertices of a trapezium

thanks..........

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Do you know how to prove this is a quadrilateral?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I can help. Please wait while I go over your question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, a quadrilateral is just a 4 sided figure so by definition, 4 vertices make this a quadrilateral

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but we need to show that this is a trapezium, right? I wouldn't say we need to prove it's a quadrilateral

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because that is basically given they're asking to show it's a trapezium, right?

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Okay @shree.gor ! As we have 4 points given already we know that it HAS to be a quadrilatral@ And to prove that it is a trapezium just find the slopes of all the sides! And 2 sides' slopes would be the same [Showing that they are parrallel] Thus, we get the required Quadrilateral with 1 pair parallel lines [A Trapezium] Got it? :D
