plse check if i have done right or wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you made a mistake when subtracting 2 from 1; there is a double negative: x + y = 80 (1) x - y/2 = 68 (2) (1) - (2) 3y/2 = 12 everything besides that would be correct [plugging the right y value in]

btw , i knew to look deep for a mistake from reading the solution. i noticed that 56 didn't make sense since he got 68 marks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can u plse tell me how to solve this sum

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x + y = 80 - x - y/2 = 68 (x-x) + (y - -y/2) = (80-68) 0 + (y + y/2) = 12 3y/2 = 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and x= 72

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. and this makes a lot of sense since 72 - (8/2) is the 68 it should be

@Euler271 thanks

glad i could help :)
