Another nce way to pracrtice is with this: http://www.codecogs.com/eqneditor There are some commands that work here but not there, and many that work there but not here, but for basic math they do the same things.

Yah, and if you use it in a program designed to make documents with it, you can do pictures with all sorts of nifty curves, arrows, and the like. http://www.texample.net/tikz/examples/
