What is the fraction of 3.29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well first, the 3 will be a whole number, and the 29 will be a fraction. So, because the .29 is 29 hundredths, we know that it will be over /100. That means that the fraction is 3 29/100 (space between the 3 and 2). If the 29/100 can be reduced, reduce it. You can do that yourself. If you need help, let me know

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

any number with "some amount" of decimals, to make it fraction, just put it OVER a "1" plus as many zeros as "some amount" that is \(\bf 3.1234567\implies \cfrac{31234567}{\textit{1 plus 7 zeros}} \implies \cfrac{31234567}{10000000}\\ \clubsuit\clubsuit.\square\square\square\square\square \implies \cfrac{\clubsuit\clubsuit\square\square\square\square\square}{\textit{1 plus 5 zeros}} \implies \cfrac{\clubsuit\clubsuit\square\square\square\square\square}{100000}\)
