There's a basic difference between digital electronics and computer fundamentals.  Digital electronics is the basic study of electronics as related to circuitry used digitally, as basic AND, OR, XOR, Flip -Flops, Registers, ect while the compute fundamentals may consist of Boolean algebra, machine language using binary, octal, hexadecimal, assembly language, higher languages such BASIC and C++.  Fundamentally one deals with analog circuitry used in the digital mode while the other has to do with the organization of chips and logic.  There is definitely a difference between what's in Microprocessor and how it's applied.
