you are looking for the opposite side so it will be: opposite=hypotenuse(sine theta)

\( \sin \theta = \dfrac{opp}{hyp} \) \( (hyp)(\sin \theta) = opp \) \(opp = (hyp)(\sin \theta) \) \( opp = 10 \sin 20^{\circ} \) In your calculator, multiply 10 by sin 20. The answer is 3.4. You are correct.
