Write the quadratic function in vertex form. y = x2 + 4x + 7

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Think really hard on this: \((a+b)^{2} = a^{2} + 2ab + b^{2}\)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Did you think about it, yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i think i hve an answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= (x + 2)2 + 3 @tkhunny

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

How did you find that?

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

That is correct, btw. Half of the 4, and then squared, gives the piece we seek. Then from the 7, there was 3 left over. Excellent work!
