It can also be used to edit one of your own posts which had a lot of latex equations. For example: Here are many formula: \[x\]\[y\]\[z\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't have to copy each formula separately. I just had to click on button to get it all.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

Hello, This is interesting. Can someone else see the quote, even though they don't have the extension?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Quotes appear to all people the same thing, regardless of whether they use the extension or not. They appear like so: \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Compassionate Hello, This is interesting. Can someone else see the quote, even though they don't have the extension? \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) No parsing is done by the extension to make quotes look nice. The drawback is that nested quotes tend to be a bit confusing. The only thing the extension does is convert \(\LaTeX\) equations and `code` into their original input text, unlike what normal copying and pasting would do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Seems interesting. I gotta give it a try.

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @some_someone Seems interesting. I gotta give it a try. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) That's awesome :)

thomaster (thomaster):

But it does mess up the timestamp and the report abuse link a little bit :P Maybe something to fix.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah there might still be bugs, like Thomaster mentioned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To be honest, I'm getting that issue whether or not my extension is enabled, so I'm not sure where it is coming from.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Though my extension did make me more aware of the issue.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@thomaster Can you give me a screenshot when extension is not enabled?

thomaster (thomaster):

I disabled the extension and it's still there... Didn't notice it before, but I have seen it working correct many times so it's probably a recent bug.

thomaster (thomaster):

Funny by the way, when you disable the extension without refreshing the page, the link turns into a button :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, I expected as much. I don't want to try to fix a bug that isn't caused by my extension because it might break things if the site bug is fixed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is because the extension CSS is removed, but the button HTML is still there.

thomaster (thomaster):

Still, it's definitely a helpful tool. I also like your notebook extension, I probably use it more than equation, draw and attach combined :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If anyone comes up with ideas of how to make quotes look better for all people, whether they user the extension or not, let me know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Initially I considered something like: Quote: user ``` fasdf ``` But this disables latex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And it doesn't nest either.

thomaster (thomaster):

It would look better... \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @thomaster 22 minutes ago ``` Still, it's definitely a helpful tool. I also like your notebook extension, I probably use it more than equation, draw and attach combined :P ```

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I could have two types of quotes. One without latex or code: Quote by @user ``` Body ``` And then another that with latex or code: Quote by @user ``` ``` Blah ``` ```

thomaster (thomaster):

Yea I think the second one works best. Also a timestamp would be cool :)
