OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

\( (x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2 \) is the equation of a circle with center (h, k) and radius r.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you calculate the equation of the circle without drawing a diagram?

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

well diameter is given by the fact that the two lines are parallel, so we know r, and its pretty easy to "picture" that the center point is halfway on x = 2
