what is tan(x+iy) in term of x and y pls help

OpenStudy (experimentx):

use tan(a+b) formula. tan(ix) = itanh(x)

OpenStudy (experimentx):

or just convert tan(x) into sin(x)/cos(x) = (e^x - e^(-x))/(e^x + e^(-x)) you should get a complex number in terms of hyperbolic functions.

OpenStudy (experimentx):

edit * sin(x)/cos(x) = (e^(ix) - e^(-ix))/(e^(ix) + e^(-ix))
