I don't know I thought I saved it as a Jpeg but I can't open it either. Hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is x? if it is |YZ| then x^2 + 3.5^2 = 4.6^2 so\[x = \sqrt{4.6^2-3.5^2} = 8.91\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8.91 isn't a possible answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = arccos (3.5/4.6) = 40.46 degrees

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So you used cosine?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, i used arccosine. inverse of the cosine. it takes the ratio of 2 sides and gives you the angle

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Use trigonometry here @TaylorTypo Use cosine of x because cosine = adjacent/hypotenuse = 3.5/4.6 = 35/46 So cos x = 35/46 x = cos ^-1 (35/46) [Calculate] That should be your answer!! :D Understood? :)

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

And yeah Use Google Chrome! :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ooh. I forgot to move the decimal point haha. Thanks!

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):
