Given the following system of equations, identify the type of system. x + y = 6 y = 3 - x consistent inconsistent equivalent how do i figure these ones out ?? @AkashdeepDeb
There is also this cool fact about lines The normal equation of 2 simple lines A1x + B1y + C1 = 0 A2x + B2y + C2 = 0 If A1/A2 Is not equal to B1/B2 Then the equations are consistent If A1/A2 = B1/B2 is not equal to C1/C2 Lines are parallel and are INCONSISTENT If A1/A2 = B1/B2 = C1/C2 Lines are equivalent!! :D So try rewriting the equations in the simple forms of; Ax + By + C = 0 And then see what it can be!! :D Understood this? :)
@dirtydan667 ?
um im trying to understand
So in your question We have x+y = 6 and y = 3-x Or we have x+y = 6 and x+y = 3 These lines are parallel/Inconsistent because A1 = 1, A2 = 1, B1 = 1, B2 = 1, C1 = -6 , C2 = -3 So A1/A2 = B1/B2 is not equal to C1/C2 That is why!! :D
you can go on to other questions im still trying to figure this out it also might take a while so yeh
Okay. :) Good! :D
