A regular decagonal prism has a volume of 2.5. If each one of its edges is doubled in size, what would be its new volume?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know the equation for the volume of a decagon?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

V = (5 eh / 2)cot(18) where e is the edge length of the base and h is the height of the prism

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if each one if its edge lengths were doubled then we get V =(5*2eh /2)cot(18)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how can I solve it using what they gave me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which is equal to (10eh/2)cot(18)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry I'm really bad at math :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the volume will double

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, so I double the 2.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I think I got it, thank you so much!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not sure if its the correct though :X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's ok at at least I get it now because I sure didn't have any idea on how to solve it so thank you!
