I think skull patrol has got this! :)

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Do you know the definition of "slope"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it's te measure of steepness

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Good, what the slope in the equation: $$\huge y = \frac{4}{9}x – 2$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this equation it's 4/9x

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Not quite, but close...why did you include the x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because it is connected to 4/9

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Yes, it is multiplied by x, but the "slope" is a constant for a line and it has a fixed value any where on that line, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is right

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

So what is the slope?
