I want to study advanced english. Which book/site/course should I take?
do you want to do it on an online school site
Could be. I've already used Rosetta Stone and Livemocha
so you mean the actual language english not a subject for school
Yes, exactly. I want to learn how to write/speak/read advanced english and which subjects should I be studying.
well i would actually find someone who speaks your language and english. that would be the only way to really do it, but i was born speaking english so i really don't know what else to tell you .
Ok thanks :)
welcome honey
Part of the problem lies in what do you mean by advanced English? College level English for an other than English degree? This can be done through expanding vocabulary and learning the rules of grammar very well. Advanced technical information, like in an English degree? Get the college catalog from the web site of a reputable college that has an English degree. Use this to find the classes that the degree would need. Then, use the web pages for those classes to find the syllabus, which should cover what the course will be on as well as list references, books, etc. English for novels? Well, read a selection of novels from classic and modern authors. Similar to college, but more focus on use of embellishment in description. English for a technical field? Journals or magazines for that field and, if one exists, a dictionary of terms. Low level textbooks in that field also tend to have definitions of the terms.
