Use the distributive law to factor each of the following. Check by multiplying. 1. 9x+ 9y My question is: Do I divide both sides by 9, because they have a 9 in common? Or do I divide both sides by 2, because there are two 9s? Also, how would I get the solution to this problem? Thanks

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

first notice that you have oly one side. this is not an equation. this just a simple expression

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

9x+ 9y it has two terms. first term is 9x second term is 9y

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

both terms have 9 common eh ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

so, pull it out

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

9x+ 9y 9(x+y)
