Rewrite with only sin x and cos x.? cos 2x - sin x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got this: By the double-angle formula for cosine: cos(2x) - sin(x) = 1 - 2sin^2(x) - sin(x).

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Seems like it works to me. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in other words, it can be written as: cos^2x - sin^2x - sin x? :O

OpenStudy (akashdeepdeb):

Yes anything without 2x as the angle.

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Yup, that works too. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh okay! thanks!
