There are 4 teams in a basketball league. Each team plays each of the other teams three times. How many games are played? @satellite73

OpenStudy (phi):

how about (4 choose 2) * 3 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where are these random answers coming from? (not @phi )

OpenStudy (anonymous):

either what @phi said or \(9+6+3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 teams... 3 games with each other makes it 9 multiplied by 4 (the number of teams) = 36 that's the way i learnt it @satellite73

OpenStudy (phi):

@Adrian7 I think you are double counting the games. when team 1 plays team 2, that is the same game as when team 2 plays team 1. If you list 4 teams, and all the games for 1 round, you will get 6 games.
