The expression (2x^2)^3 is equivalent to _____. 6x^2 6x^5 8x^6
ok so try breaking the problem down like distributing the exponent 3 to 2 and x separately
Uhm, How do I do that? Sorry Math isn't my best subject.
ok no problem
so to distribute you would do 2^3 and (X^2)^3.... i know this looks confusing but work with me :) so first solve 2^3
8 :)
\[\eqalign{ (2x^2)^3&=(2*x^2)^3 \\ &=(2^3)*(x^2)^3 \\ &=8*x^6 \\ &=8x^6 \\ }\]
yup! :)
do you still want me to go through the steps or are you ok?
No I still want you to go through the steps so I can make sure I under stand it clearly.
ok cool
But thank you @KeithAfasCalcLover for Showing your work. And thank you @Rose6 for going through the steps with me:)
so the next step is to solve (x^2)^3....so you would just do 2*3=? because in this case you would multiply the exponents... the reason being is because the equation in the parenthesis is being raised to the third power.... then all that's left is to put the problem together! :) And your absolutely welcome! :)
are you ok or did i confuse you on something?
Sorry, I got up to eat dinner. so 6? 8x^6
yes that's right! sorry i got up to eat dinner too! :)
Thats fine and Thank you so much for your help!:) @Rose6
