An agriculturist plants legumes, which host the bacterium Rhizobium in their root nodules for nitrogen fixation. How will these legumes enrich the soil?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

for this you need to know about process of nitrogen fixation. you know it or you would like me to explain it to you?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

see nitrogen fixation is a process n which the molecular nitrogen which is relatively inert is converted into ammonia. the rhizobia present in the nodules of the legumes have a symbiotic association with the host. by fixing nitrogen it helps the plant to survive and in return uses the host energy to grow. later when this legume dies off the fixed nitroen in the form of ammonia is released into the soil thus enriching the soil.
