Given: -2x < 10. what is the solution set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2x <10 = x >-10/2 = x>-5 the solution set is (-5,+oo) where oo represents infinity

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Do you understand how to solve it, @Blondie_Forreal ? Solve an inequality just as you do an Equation, with one extra rule: if you multiply or divide by a negative number, you flip the direction of the inequality sign. Since Paul did your problem FOR you rather than explain the process, can you do these 2 on your own? What is the solution set: 1. -3x<18 2. 2x<8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry i guess

The idea is not to hand out answers, or to do problems completely, but to guide the asker to the answer so that they learn something. http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct
