Which of the following is NOT a function? (1,4), (3,5), (4,8), (6,9) (2,4), (2,5), (3,8), (3,9) (1,6), (2,6), (3,6), (4,6) (12,43), (13,55), (14,88), (19,135)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

to be a function can not have the value of x repeated for example if I have (2,3) (2,5) is not a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it wouldnt be the second or third one.... Right??? It would be the last one..correct??

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

the question is which one is NOT a function ??

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

so if you see that the x shows the same number is already not a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(CONFUSION)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

the values of the "x" on the last one are {12,13,14, 19} the all different so that is a function

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

you have points as (x,y), just look at the values on position of x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so it would be the second one because the value of x repeats so that would make it not a function.

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

correct, you got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!!! ;)

OpenStudy (ivettef365):

yw :)
