what is the domain and range of the abstract function y=-18x^2+310x+90? Pleae helpp
When finding the domain or range of a function, you usually begin by attempting to figure out what the limiting values are for x and y. In other words, what values, if any, will cause the function to give a result that is undefined, indeterminate, non-real.
@jjbaby110, do you know if there is any value of x that may not work for the given function?
No, but there is an ordered pair. It's (8.6,1424.7).
You must have graphed the function using a graphing calc. Yes, that is probably an ordered pair of values that work.
Basically, what we are dealing with here is a quadratic function. And in general, quadratic functions have a domain that includes all real numbers.
Which means, you could input any value of x and get a valid y value.
However, just from graphing the function, you can observe that along the y-axis, there exist values that do not include the function.
I have to write it in interval notation and none of this makes sense to me. My math teacher doesnt speak english so
