would the answer to this equation be 1.5? [(30 + 6) - 32] ÷ 9 • 2

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

how did you get 1.5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@chyna13 how? can you explain to me how you got that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you just add 30+6and you get 36 then you subtract 32 from 36 thenyou get 4 then divide 9 by 4 and you get 2.25 then mutiply 2.25 times 2 and you get 4.5 sorry its 4.5 not 28.8

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm \(\bf 4 \div 9\) is not the same as \(\bf 9 \div 4\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but you divide 9 by 4 @jdoe0001

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

I thought it was the other way around :|, the left side is the dividend

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i thought it was 9 by 4 because that is how i do it because you cnat divide 4 by 9

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well, you can, it's just a big decimal value

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is 4.5 big

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@chyna13 you're wrong, it's not 4.5 or 28.8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok @slumberousteenager
