help with functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you need help on exactly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

{(7,5),(-6,0),(2,3)} {(7,5),(-6,0),(-6,-2), (2,3)} {7,-6,2,-7} {(7,5), (-6,0),(7,3)} which one of these are a function? and how?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok first of all there is a rule that the domain (x) cannot be repeated (ex: #2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you mean the -6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you see how it is repeated in the domain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so that is not the function? and yes the x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup you're right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see that one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can you cancel out any others? from knowing that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm the last one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first one is it? the function?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i have a question is the second one 2 separate pairs or is it one whole one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my guess would be the whole one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i guess because when you go back and look at it that is the only one that makes sense :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thats true! thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem just glad to help :)
