OpenStudy (phi):

I don't remember all the definitions off the top of my head.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@phi Conditional: If p, then q Converse: If q, then p Inverse: If not p, then not q Contrapositive: If not q, then not p

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@mathstudent55

OpenStudy (phi):

if your definitions are correct, they you did the first question correctly

OpenStudy (firejay5):

cause it's blurry

OpenStudy (phi):

I think you can come up with better examples for 8 and 9

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I need help

OpenStudy (phi):

for 8) how about if I walk in the rain then I am wet inverse is if I don't walk in the rain then I am not wet (not true, because I could have been in the swimming pool)

OpenStudy (phi):

for 9) how about if president of the U S then obama the converse is if obama then president of the US

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Is #9 not to make sense

OpenStudy (phi):

your 9 is OK, but I was wondering if anything else meows that is not a cat .

OpenStudy (firejay5):

If president of the US then Obama???? Confused

OpenStudy (phi):

If a person is the president of the US then the person is Obama

OpenStudy (phi):

that is true. and the converse if a person is Obama, the person is the president of the US is also true.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I get it and agree with that

OpenStudy (firejay5):

what about #10

OpenStudy (phi):

for your last question, a) is OK b) is true

OpenStudy (phi):

I can't read 10)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

you mean 8 and 9

OpenStudy (firejay5):

or #7

OpenStudy (phi):

for 8) how about if I walk in the rain then I am wet inverse is if I don't walk in the rain then I am not wet (not true, because I could have been in the swimming pool)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

oh okay what about #10

OpenStudy (phi):

I can't read your answer to 10

OpenStudy (firejay5):

It intersects if and only if it'll form right angles

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Write the definition of perpendicular lines in if and only if form

OpenStudy (phi):

10 sounds ok

OpenStudy (firejay5):

the last link A - D

OpenStudy (phi):

a) if the number does not end in 2 then the number is not even FALSE. 4 does not end in 2, but the number IS even

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Try these C A - If numbers don't end in 2 then it's not even. True B - If it's not even, then #'s don't end in 2 C - If numbers end in 2 then it's even - True D - If it's even then numbers end in 2.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@timo86m

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am having trouble viewing that plus i am not that good at geometry :(

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Ask me if you can't read it and I am on the 3rd link

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Those are my answers, but I am not for sure

OpenStudy (phi):

For A - If numbers don't end in 2 then it's not even. True I think that is FALSE. 4 does not end in 2, but it is EVEN

OpenStudy (phi):

B - If it's not even, then #'s don't end in 2 that sounds good. it is TRUE (no odd number ends in 2)

OpenStudy (phi):

C - If numbers end in 2 then it's even - True ok

OpenStudy (phi):

D - If it's even then numbers end in 2. that is the contrapositive. it is FALSE 104 is even, but it does not end in 2

OpenStudy (firejay5):

A - False B - True C - True D - False (Give a counterexample)
