5/4 = X/12 need help please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply each term by 12 to get rid off the fractions.. then simplify to solve for X

Another way to do it is to multiply the 5/4 by 3/3 (which is equal to 1 anyway) and that leaves you with 15/12=x/12. From there it's readily apparent what x should equal.
