y=x-v/v

So what's the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just trying to help my son with his 8th grade algebra. :) Is the answer yb+v=x (?)

thomaster (thomaster):

So the question is solve for x :) \(\Large y=\dfrac{x-v}v\) first multiply both sides by v to get rid of the fraction: \(\Large y*v=x-v\) now add v on both sides \(\Large y*v+v=x\) You can factor the y*v+v to v(y+1) So that would make: \(\Large x=v(y+1)\)
