Just trying to help my son with his 8th grade algebra.  :)  Is the answer yb+v=x  (?)

So the question is solve for x :)

$\Large y=\dfrac{x-v}v$

first multiply both sides by v to get rid of the fraction:

$\Large y*v=x-v$

now add v on both sides

$\Large y*v+v=x$

You can factor the y*v+v to v(y+1)

So that would make:

$\Large x=v(y+1)$
