expand then simplify, then move everything of variable to one side, while all the numbers on the other side.

2(a-4)=4a-(2a+4) 2a-8=4a-2a-4 2a-8= 2a-4 -8=-4 <-- but then we know this is not true. this means that we dont have a real solution.
