On a remote island in the Pacific, geographical isolation ensured that the human population had auburn colored hair for several generations before intermingling led to a change in hair color. What pattern and kind of evolution is this an example of?

OpenStudy (shrutipande9):

i think that the trait auburn coloured hair was due to a recessive gene. as it is found in remote island the further matings that occurred were amongst the people showing the same trait. so for several generations the same trait was observed. but after intermingling maybe a dominant trait was introduced which masked the expression of the earlier recessive trait which led to change in hair colour. this is what i think.
