how do you solve P=IRT step by step
P= IRT solve for T To solve for T, you must get T on it's own on one side of the equals sign, with all the other terms on the other side. IRT means that I and R are multiplied by T. To get rid of them we must do the opposite of multiply, which is divide. But because this is an equation, anything we do on one side of the equals sign, must be repeated on the other side. So if we divide the right side by IR, we must also divide the left side by IR P = IRT (divide both sides by IR) P/IR = IRT/IR ( the IR's cancel out) Answer is T = P/IR y = 5x - 6 solve for x Again we need to get x on it's own. First bring the -6 across the equals. When you bring a number across, you must change it's sign, so the minus six becomes a plus. Now we have, y + 6 = 5x 5x means five multiplied by x. To undo this we do the opposite and divide by five. Remembering to also divide the other side by five as well (y+6)/5 = x 7x - y = 14 solve for x X again needs to be in it's own, so we move the minus y across the equals, remembering to change it's sign to positive. 7x = 14 + y Now just divide both sides by 7 x = (14+y) / 7 i found online
