zepdrix (zepdrix):

So the first question: Since roses INCREASE as weeds DECREASE we can interpret this as: `roses are inversely proportional to weeds` Remember how to write an relationship when the elements are inversely proportional? :) We should have something like this.\[\Large r=\frac{k}{w}\] Where \(\Large k\) is a constant of proportionality that we'll need to solve for.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

To solve for k, we'll need to use information from the chart they provided.

zepdrix (zepdrix):

\[\Large \color{#CC0033}{r=20} \qquad\text{when}\qquad \color{#996666}{w=10}\]\[\Large \color{#CC0033}{r}=\frac{k}{\color{#996666}{w}}\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Understand how to find k? :)

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

Okay if there are 5 weeds would it be 10=k/5?

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hmm we don't want to use the `5 weeds` part just yet. We need use the `chart` to find k. See what I did with the 20 and 10 from the chart? :o

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

Oh okay, yes I see it
