wouldn't it just be \(1.1x\le7.25\)?
It needs to be piecewise function, and it will "jump" at each integer since the charge is applied as soon as each hour starts. What is weird is that you can never get to the max charge of $7.25, because after 6 hours the charge is 6.6, and if you charge another hour or part of, then you get to 7.70, greater than the max charge. So it seems like it is constant from 6 to 24 hours.
I understand the information that the problem gives me. I don't know how to put it into a piece wisefunction.
Well, since the domain include x=0, I would start with that: y=0 for x=0 y=1.10 for 0<x<=1 y=2.20 for 1<x<=2 And so on... it's really a "step" function, if you've seen those (if not, don't worry about... basically just a piecewise function that is made up of horizontal pieces). Then when you get to 6.60, that's actually the maximum charge (as I interpret the problem) so you get: y=6.60 for 5<x<=24
