A bandwagon fallacy is committed when the person arguing a point bases the truth of that point on its popularity rather than supporting facts. Example: The Oakland Raiders are a very popular football team, therefore they must be a good football team. You see this fallacy committed all the time in TV ads and often in political ads as well.
