If the main point of the 'preparation of salts' lab is to produce ZnSO4, can someone please tell me why BaCl2 solution was reacted with HCl.

What did you add to it? Are you sure you are not making Ba SO4?

no my teacher said something about If the ZnSO4 is formed and if it reacts with BaSO4 then a milky substance will appear. Can you please explain this? i am confused :$
