The average rate of change of f(x)=3x+9 is 9. True of False?
False.
The equation is in slope-intercept form: f(x)=mx+b. M is the slope. And in the equation, 3x+9, the 3 is in the M spot. So the rate of change is 3.
What kind of question is this? Calculus?
It's more Algebra.
Oh ok, I didn't see it like that! Thank you :) and its suppose to be Algebra :)
Assuming that this is a simple linear equation, there is no calculus involved.
Just asking, they have average rate of change in calc too.
hey keith can u plz help me on my problem
That's because with a linear equation, the average rate of change is the same as the instantaneous rate of change which is the slope
keith can u plz help me on my question plz
and @Ness9630 , Calculus focuses more with regards to slope on the instantaneous aspect. And I would love to @magie22. This one?
Yea I know I know, no need to lecture me.
