Is air a homogenous mixture of two or more pure substances?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

A homogeneous mixture is one that is uniformly distributed throughout. (not concentrated in one area, like the common example of oil and water (which would be a heterogeneous mixture)). Are the components of air evenly distributed, or are there patches of oxygen and nitrogen molecules, here and there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are evenly distributed, making it homogenous. :)

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Right ! :)
